The most efficient path to generating ICDs is directly from Revit models that have proper sheets and sheet sets defined. However, not all drawings come from Revit, and Revit is not always fully linked and loaded. So, the most consistent and best results are possible when the construction project team can share access to all or as many source authoring files as possible.
Sample of source files targeted include (but are not limited to):
- Revit (all backgrounds and linked models, or as many as possible)
- Tekla
- Autocad (all)
- AutoSprink
- Civil 3D
- Any other drawing authoring source format being used on the project
Typically these files are all managed or stored in a documented control system. Sometimes these files are spread around in different locations. In either case the easiest way to share these files is to Invite the Inertia team to the system or systems storing these files.
Please invite bimteam@projectinertia.com to whichever system is managing or storing your project source files.
Common scenarios:
-
Autodesk Construction Cloud Docs
- Confirm View & Download permission
-
Procore Docs (or Procore Models)
- Invite to project with view and download
- Sharepoint
- Box or DropBox
- Egnyte
These systems will all send a welcome email and we can take over from there. However, feel free to email bimteam@projectinertia.com to let us know you have invited us and to share any direction or guidance for how to navigate the system and where to find the files we are targeting.
