What is a WAN?
WAN stands for "Work activity notice". This tool is used by the contractor and sub-contractor to notify the inspection team of upcoming work activities so that the inspection team can schedule and coordinate inspections accordingly.
Create a WAN
1. In the left navigation menu, locate WAN, and select Create WAN.
2. Enter the information for your WAN.

- Work Type: Select the type of work that will be performed from the dropdown menu
- Work Title: Enter the name of the WAN.
- Work Description: Enter the description of the work that will be performed.
- Work Location: Enter the location information for the WAN. (Individual inspections linked to the WAN will also have location information, but it is important to list the location information here as well.)

- Link Records: Select Select Module > Inspections if you'd like to link existing inspections to the WAN. (You can also create and link inspections later after the WAN has been created.)

- Assign to: Select the Inspector to assign the WAN
- Permit: Select your permit

- Select the Work Start Date, and Work Start Time (Select N/A if you do not wish to enter a start time)
- Select the Work End Date, and Work End Time (Select N/A if you do not wish to enter an end time)

3. Once you have entered all the information above, select Save in the upper right corner.
Linking Inspections to an existing WAN
Select Options > Create IR to create a new Inspection Requested linked to this WAN
OR
Select Link Record > Inspections to locate and link existing inspections to the WAN.
You're done! Now, you can locate and view WANs using the main Inertia Calendar, and the WAN Calendar.
