Generate Inertia ICDs using the Inertia Revit Plugin
1. After installing the Inertia Plugin, launch Revit (2021-2024).
2. Open the Revit model you would like to process.
3. With your desired model open, select the ICD plugin, as shown below.
4. Next, you will be asked to sign in using your Inertia login and password. This is the same username and password used to log into Inertia. Need help logging in? Contact us!
5. Next, we'll create or select a Facility. You can think of the facility as the ICD folder for each project. If you have already created a facility, you can select it from the dropdown menu. Otherwise, you will need to create a new one.
The Facility name is required, and the remaining fields are optional. When you have entered the facility details, select OK to save.
6. Your newly created facility will now show in the Facility dropdown menu. Select your facility, then select Continue.
7. Once you have selected the facility, select the Project to link to your facility and hit OK. Select Continue in the bottom right corner.
8. Confirm that all models listed on the ICD Link Manager page are marked green, and select Continue.
9. Next, you'll be able to select the sheets you would like to publish as ICDs.
A - Select the specific sheets you would like to publish, or select the first checkbox to select all sheets. This will publish the latest version of the sheet from the model.
B - Alternatively, you can select from a specific Revit sheet set by selecting from the dropdown menu.
Make your sheet selections and hit Continue.
10. The plugin will begin processing the sheets you selected in step 9.
Depending on the number of sheets you are processing, plus the size and complexity of your Revit model, processing times will vary from 20 minutes to several hours. For example, we would estimate that processing 100 sheets from a model of standard complexity could take approximately 1-3 hours to complete.
11. Once processing has completed, the Activate button will appear. Select Activate.
12. Next, select Launch Inertia Web or visit https://app.inertiasystems.com to log in.
